The PROTO Biomechanics Study has now been recruiting participants for more than one year. During this period, more than 300 patients undergoing anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and collaborating clinics have been screened for eligibility.
To date, 30 participants have completed baseline biomechanical assessments at our Berlin-Mitte site, with multiple follow-up assessments already performed. Approximately two-thirds of screened individuals exhibit pathological gait patterns and are therefore invited to continue in the study.
Those participants complete a personalized, app-based training program supported by a digital avatar and wearable inertial sensors, enabling real-time monitoring and correction of movement patterns.
We are grateful to all study participants, and collaborating research and clinical teams, for their continued engagement and support
